We had a short trip to Beaufort, which was a nice change. We were greeted at the fuel dock by Uncle Bobby, who hooked us up with a sweet mooring again this year. We didn't even have trouble getting on the mooring either. We are not that practiced in the art of grabbing at a mooring, but the owner of the mooring had a nice bridle set up that was really easy for us to get with a boat hook. Thanks!
We quickly went to shore, and got some much needed ice cream! The town of Beaufort has a great bunch of waterfront shops and a really nice free mueseum (it contains tons of artifacts from Queen Anne's Revenge, Blackbeard's discovered sunken pirate ship). While Beaufort may not be the easiest place to reach by car, it is worth a trip, we really like it here!
