One great thing about staying in New England for the year is Cyclo-cross season. (Cyclo-cross...is literally a cross between road cycling and mountain bike racing. The bike is a road bike frame with narrow knobby tires. The race courses usually contain the following: road, narrow dirt track, sand pits, barriers, and off the bike run up hills. With all of these obstacles you can usually witness a good crash. And amazingly, watch the racers pop up equally as fast as they went down, and get right back on to the bike and keep going....truly amazing sometimes.) While Chris really misses not being able to ride and race, it is still fun to go to races and spectate, that way we get to see all the people who are still involved in racing and cheer them on.
We just went to the Gloucester cyclo-cross race, which is our favorite. The weather is always perfect, and the area is amazing. The other reason is that, because it is one of the first races of the season, we get to see everyone that we haven't seen in a year and all the kids looks so much bigger, older, and some of them are even all grown up!
