We had a great weekend! Our friends Caitlin and Billy got married. They had a wedding weekend: Friday-clambake, Saturday-ceremony, Sunday-brunch. All three events were a blast! They had an ice cream truck come for desert after the clam bake! So great to see a bunch of adults lined up in excitement, trying to decide which ice cream selection to choose.

It is hard to imagine Deason growing up, and not having a career on a boat or being involved with boats in some way. He never hesitates to jump on Sea Tow with uncle Barry. In the picture above he was rowing around with Evan, in the pram that he and Chris built last year. He goes over to the dinghy dock daily to make sure the lines are all tied correctly. He has finally mastered how to tie a bowline, and I think he ties and reties it daily. He loves boats!

Life on Cape Cod has been pretty good. It was the Falmouth Road Race this past weekend. I swear, this is a great spot to be, boat or no boat. We just walked right out to the race to cheer everyone on, and then we had a bunch of people come and visit back on the boat after the race. Although, I think people want to come to see the boat just as much, if not more than, visit with us. Either way, we are just glad to see everyone.
Deason has been a busy kid, and he loves the freedom to be able to ride his bike over to our old neighborhood and play with his friends. He got his dinghy "Doodle bug" fixed! Chris broke the gunwale last year, and he, Deason, and Grampa finally fixed it. So, he has put the dinghy at the dinghy dock here and has been practicing rowing it around. He gets a little frustrated when it is too windy, because all 50 lbs of him plus the dinghy blows all over the place.
Dahlia has been busy too, she had been taking a few steps here and there. Then, the other night we were at a cookout, and there was another little girl there who was a year older than Dahlia. Apparently, peer pressure starts at a young age, once Dahlia saw that girl walking around she was determined to walk too. Now we have a little walker on our hands.
Chris of course has been doing a wonderful job of taking care of Dahlia and Deason while I have been at work. They frequent the playground where Deason gets chased around by all the girls, and Dahlia loves being pushed on the swing.
Booger is doing a wonderful job at transporting me back and forth to work. So well, in fact, it brought me to work yesterday, and I wasn't even scheduled to work!!! Who does that???!!! It is a quirky little car. When you shift, the radio switched back and forth from FM to CD...weird, then if you want to turn up the volume on the radio it sometimes switches off. I also think it is one of the last cars out there with crank windows.

Well, I start work today! I am actually really nervous! I know Dahlia will be fine without me, and Chris and Deason will be too. I'm nervous that I might have forgotten everything I knew about taking care of sick people. I hope it is just like riding a bike! Either way, the blog won't be interesting for a while, unless we take a trip on some of my days off. I won't write about work, you wouldn't want to hear about it anyway!
Chris has been working on the ever growing list of things to do to the boat. He has replaced all of the tubing for the port side head. Which was a bigger job than he or I had thought. Translation: he did the work and I thought it would be done in a few hours. It is done now, and it smells great too! No more old head smell! Big plus! Hopefully, by October when we leave, the list will be completed, without an abundance of add ons!

Booger is officially on the road! It is a fun little car to drive, kind of feels more like a toy than a real car. Amazingly, I haven't driven a car in over 2 months, and it only took 15 minutes for me to experience road rage. Although, anyone who doesn't get road rage driving around a Cape Cod rotary in the summer needs to have their pulse checked. It is truly shocking how confused people get approaching or driving around a rotary!

We were all kind of sad this morning, Kelly and Jonny from "Best Revenge 5" left the dock! We have been neighbors on the dock since we got here, and they left this morning to head for Maine! We have all enjoyed their company, and of course, Deason made a lego model of their boat, which came out really awesome! It is kind of strange, we have been watching that boat come into the harbor every summer for the past few years, and to know the people on board now is kind of surreal!

Dahlia took 4 steps today! I know that in a few days or weeks when I am chasing her down the dock I will regret encouraging this whole walking thing, but there is something really neat about someone so small reaching that milestone.
